ROSEMARY YBARRA-HERNANDEZ,

CEO/Founder

Rosemary Ybarra-Hernandez, known to many as “Mrs. H.”, is the CEO and Founder of AGUILA.  Throughout her life Mrs. H. has been recognized for her personal and academic accomplishments as Outstanding Undergraduate  at the Inaugural ASU Hispanic Convocation earning her Bachelors in Political Science & Certificate in Women’s Studies; Arizona Board of Regents Scholar earning a Masters in Public Administration and Patricia Roberts Harris Federal Fellow PhD(ABD) in Juvenile Justice Policy. She participated in the Inaugural cohort of the Arizona Education Policy Fellowship Program co-sponsored by the Lincoln Center for Applied Ethics at the Mary Lou Fulton College of Education and the Division of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Arizona State University where her research focused on Arizona High School Counselor Requirements. Mrs. H. is also a graduate of Valle del Sol’s HLI (1st Cohort); NHLI (National Hispana Leadership Institute); Certificates from the Center for Creative Learning/Colorado;  and Harvard Executive Management. 

Mrs. H. gained her work experience in the non-profit, education and government arenas as Job Readiness Trainer with Arizona Women’s Education and Employment, Program Director with Center Against Sexual Assault, Program Director for Fresh Start Women’s Foundation, Manager of Diversity/Outreach for the Girls Scouts, Academic Advisor for the Minority Engineering Program and Counselor for the Hispanic Mother/Daughter Program at Arizona State University, Adjunct Faculty at Phoenix, Gateway, Scottsdale and Glendale Community Colleges in Political Science and Chicano Studies, Program Specialist with the City of Phoenix and the first Deputy City Manager for the City of Surprise.

Mrs. H. has been recognized by Arizona Women in Government/City of Surprise, Community Service/Cesar E. Chavez Foundation, Dr. Cesar E. Chavez Award/Community Service Arizona State University, Woman of the Year - Gamma Alpha Omega Sorority/ASU, Cesar E. Chavez Award/Community Service/Glendale Chamber of Commerce, Community Leadership Award/Arizona Hispanic Forum, Valle del Sol Profiles of Success/Lorraine Lee Latino Advocacy Champion Award, Arizona Hispanic Chamber/Woman of the Year, 25 Most Admired CEO’s/Phoenix Business Journal, George Gervin Prep Academy/Community Service, and Phoenix School of Law/Los Defensores de la Justicia Award, 2020 Los D-Backs Pete Garcia Hispanic Leadership Award

In addition to her work, Mrs. H has served on the Boards of Friendly House, Parents Anonymous, The WHEEL Council, Crisis Nursery Advisory, Arizona Coalition Against Domestic Violence, West Valley Art Museum, College Board Counselor Advisory Board, Terros Healthcare and currently serves on the Lehigh University Counselor Advisory Board and Valle del Sol/NM Advisory Board. She is married to Robert Hernandez, Co-Founder of AGUILA and biggest fan/support. Together they have 4 wonderful daughters, Erica, Rachael, Jessica and Juliette and blessed with their greatest gift - their grandchildren, Ayden, Reina, Elias, Amelia and Aletta.
